Genetic Variants and Haplotypes of CDH1 Gene in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Case Control Study in South Indian Women
نویسندگان
چکیده
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a heterogeneous multifactorial endocrine metabolic disorder. The main aim of this study was to investigate the association Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) CDH1 gene with susceptibility PCOS in South Indian women. This comprised 105 cases and 115 controls origin. We have genotyped promoter -347G/GA (rs5030625), -160C/A (rs16260) 3’-UTR +54C/T (rs1801026) polymorphisms by PCR-DNA sequencing analysis. genotype allele distributions were analysed using Fisher’s exact test. Haplotype frequencies for multiple loci standardized disequilibrium coefficient (D’) pair wise Linkage Disequilibrium (LD) assessed Haploview Software. -347 (P=0.02), -160 (P=0.05) +54(P=0.001) genotypes G/C/T (P=0.003), G/A/T (P=0.037), GA/A/C (P=0.00008) GA/A/T (P=0.0008) haplotypes significantly different between patients controls. A strong LD observed C/A +54 C/T (D’=1), when compared G/GA (D’=0.20) or (D’=0.07) cases. In conclusion, first time we report significant GA, +54T variants risk

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: Role of Aromatase Gene Variants in South Indian Women
CYP19A1 gene encodes an aromatase enzyme that mediates the conversion of androgens to estrogens and appears to play a crucial role in the pathophysiology of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a heterogeneous metabolic disorder that affects 4 12% women worldwide. We investigated the impact of an exonic, rs700519 and two intronic, rs2414096, rs60271534 variants of CYP19A1 gene by recruiting 506 su...
متن کاملAssociation of CAPN10 SNPs and Haplotypes with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome among South Indian Women
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is known to be characterized by metabolic disorder in which hyperinsulinemia and peripheral insulin resistance are central features. Given the physiological overlap between PCOS and type-2 diabetes (T2DM), and calpain 10 gene (CAPN10) being a strong candidate for T2DM, a number of studies have analyzed CAPN10 SNPs among PCOS women yielding contradictory results....
متن کاملP-91: Androgen Associated Gene Polymorphism(s) in Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome from South Indian Population
Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a heterogeneous endocrine disorder affecting 4-12% of reproductive women worldwide; characterized by chronic anovulation, clinical and/or biochemical hyperandrogenism, and polycystic ovaries on ultrasound scan. Ovarian androgen overproduction is the key pathophysiologic feature of PCOS. A number of genes encoding major enzymes of the androgen meta...
متن کاملAssociation of vitamin D receptor gene variants with polycystic ovary syndrome: A case control study
BACKGROUND Vitamin D and insulin play an important role in susceptibility to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and therefore vitamin D receptor (VDR), parathyroid hormone (PTH), and insulin receptor (INSR) gene variants might be involved in the pathogenesis of PCOS. OBJECTIVE The present study was designed to investigate the possible associations between polymorphisms in VDR, PTH, and INSR ge...
